“Prom Queen” Bathes The Charts In Pig’s Blood

I was kinda hoping Lil Wayne’s rock project would not be a success. “Prom Queen” is sort of a turd, and he’s still a great rapper. You know how people always ask that stupid question “Why do rappers like Coldplay?” I wish “Prom Queen” sounded like Coldplay.

Well, it looks like we, as a nation of music listeners, are encouraging him. “Prom Queen” debuted on the Hot 100 this week at No. 17, the highest debut for any single this calendar year, beating out U2 and Miranda Cosgrove. Sigh. I’ve been a defender of Autotune among my hater friends, and this proves them right and me wrong.

Let’s cornify this post to make me happy!

No appearances on any rock and/or R&B charts yet, so I’m guessing this is going to be strictly an iTunes/Pop 100 phenomenon just like “Let It Rock.”
