From a Wall Street Journal article on the Live Nation/Ticketmaster merger, an all-stock tie-up that’s set to be announced later today: “Bruce Springsteen has come out publicly against the deal. But people close to the situation say that several of the high-profile acts associated with both companies—including Bono, Don Henley and Jay-Z—are likely to speak out in favor of it in coming days.” Henley coming out on the side of big business I can understand, but really, Bono? What happened to “honesty to hang your hat on,” or does that go out the window when you’re trying to offload some stock that wasn’t as lucrative as once thought? [WSJ]
