Wrigley Suspending Chris Brown’s Bubblegum Ad Campaign

The Wrigley company has announced that it’s suspending its current ad campaign for Doublemint, which features the out-on-bail teen singer Chris Brown singing his Wrigley-sponsored top-10 hit “Forever,” because of the “serious allegations” he’s currently facing. During last night’s Grammy telecast, which Brown no-showed because of his legal woes, the ad (shown above) aired at least once. So, who’s going to be the first musical purist (read: jerk) who says that the events of the last 24 hours are evidence that companies should stay out of pop music? It’s only a matter of Internet time. [AP / YouTube]
