Miley Cyrus Believes Casual Racism Is Just Part Of God’s Plan

Miley Cyrus has apologized a second time for making wacky Asian faces in a candid photo. Mainly because making wacky Asian faces is totally insulting and stupid, but also because her first apology was a shitty, insincere, total-non-apology. Anyway, according to Miley, this whole experience is part of God’s Plan, a mysterious tome that contains a footnote on page 387,309,339,100,909,289,220: “Honestly, sometimes thy must poke fun of the Asians.”

If you missed Miley’s first “apology,” which appeared on her official site, it said:

In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new ‘BAD GIRL’!”

Coincidentally the guy in the back making bucky-teeth with his fingers was also just itching the spot where hie felt his first mustache was about to grow. I mean, I don’t expect articulate statements on race relations from 16-year-olds, but she’s not too young to at least be accountable for her actions.

And what do people do when they don’t want to take full responsibility? Put it in God’s hands! Now there’s a new message:

I want to thank all of my fans for their support not only this week, but always! I really wanted to stress how sorry I am if the photo of me with my friends offended anyone. I have learned a valuable lesson from this and know that sometimes my actions can be unintentionally hurtful. I know everything is a part of GOD’s ultimate plan, and mistakes happen so that eventually I will become the woman he aspires me to be. Peace and love, Miles

Too bad God’s Ultimate Plan doesn’t include a clause about Hannah Montana cereal, of which I ate 1/4 a bowl this weekend. Because I can’t imagine the Big Man wants a cereal that tastes like potpourri.

I was all like “Yo, she was just making a face” until I saw the photo in which the one asian dude was the only one not doing it.

I would have spun it as “Miley helps make Asian exhange student feel at home”.

I want to name my new band (the imaginary one in my mind) Wacky Asian Faces.

@sicksteanein: I still think she IS just “making a face”, but the Asian dude is the racist. He purposely made his eyes big to mock white people.

I tried and tried to get offended or worked up about this, but really, who cares? It’s not like she kicked the shit out of Rihanna or anything.

Apparently mastering proper grammar is not a part of God’s plan for Miley, either.

    She is tedious.

@trapper: Yes, I would like her to publicly apologizing for writing “would of.”

anyone also remember the time she made youtube videos in which she spoke in a fake-mexican accent to mock Selena Gomez?

maybe the real moral of the story is that God put little white trash girls on this earth to expose the racism in all of us.

also, if she has even one non-white fan, I’ll shit myself. so this isn’t going to ever affect her career or anything.

@chachwitablog: might want to change your pants –

Miley Cyrus has received a very special invitation to the home of the First Family.

“The Insider” television show tells ET that Miley has been invited to the White House to screen her new film, ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie,’ for first daughters Sasha and Malia Obama.

Miley explained to “The Insider”’s Samantha Harris how the idea for the private screening came about.

“When I was doing the inauguration obviously,” she says. “They want me to come show them my new movie so hopefully I would like to do that.”

As far as how Miley feels about it she simply says that the opportunity is: “Totally cool, so I’m stoked!”

@Maura Johnston: (note that her grammar is just as crappy in spoken form)

The fact that there’s only 12 posts about this shows that nobody really cares all that much. I’m basing that on comparing it to the amount of comments Josh Homme’s offensive remarks last year generated. And yeah, that was something that was ACTUALLY offensive…and funnier too.

    Mind: melted.

…but…that’s what Asian people look like!

the biggest problem when it comes to situations like this is that those of us who do get offended at this kind of crap have been getting very used to it since we were old enough to recognize it, and no longer bother to say anything. and everyone else just says “nobody cares! funny stuff!”

    depressing.

    @shuja x: Agreed. I don’t think it’s acceptable either.
