Date Matt Pinfield

The former 120 Minutes host is looking for love in the pages of Time Out New York, and if you’re a “low or no drama” woman who’s into gravelly-voiced bald dudes who aren’t afraid to quote the Hold Steady in the context of a personal ad, then this could be your lucky day! [TONY via Fluxtumblr]

    Matt Pinfield is 47??? He always seemed like the age of an older sibling, when I was a teenager watching 120 Minutes in the mid 90s…

    Wow, can I also go out with his drug addiction, bitter divorce and known sweating condition? AWESOME.

    Poor Matt’s gonna need a gal who also has a steady job, given the reports of WRXP’s ratings lately…

    Is “Stay positive, have fun, life is too fuckin’ short” really “in the words of the Hold Steady”?

    @Wasp vs Stryper: Yyyyyyyyyikes.

    But he’s got a great personality!

    @KikoJones: His Sirius DJing stints were good, too.

    I always had a soft spot for Pinfield in the old 120 days. His awkward, stumbling mannerisms clearly had no business being in front of a camera, but his love of music struck me as being more genuine than any other VJ I can remember.

    That said… I’m already married. And male.

    Tru dat. I had a roommate that loved to watch 120 because of how passionate and knowledgeable Matt was; the latter in a non-smug, full-on music geek, kinda way. I especially enjoyed that spotlight moment at the end of the show where he summed an artist’s career/legacy, played some of their videos as background, and featured one of their songs, all in the space of 5 mins or less.

    Poor guy must be desperate. No celebrity–even a minor one as he–would put up a personals ad, otherwise. I mean, how much ribbing is the guy gonna get?

    Then again, the exposure just might help him find a girl…

    I smell a morning show stunt!
