Your tolerance for the new Missy Elliott single “Put It On You” will probably depend on how much you can take music with beats designed for “the club,” or at least an errant scene on The Hills. Throw in Missy dropping lines in Pig Latin (the 2009 edition of going the “fremme neppa venette” route), a reference to 2 Unlimited, and what Chris Weingarten correctly identified as an attempt to rip off the “hey” from Art Of Noise’s “Close To The Edit” without paying the licensing fees, and you’ve pretty much got the sum total of the track, which was produced by the Neptunes. Clip after the jump.
After many delays and Doritos, Missy’s Block Party is apparently coming out “later this year,” even though that was supposedly the case 13 months ago, too.
