John Landis is suing Michael Jackson over the royalties from the “Thriller” video again, this time claiming that he didn’t get his cut when the rights to turn the clip were sold to the theater producer James Nederlander. Meanwhile, 30frames gets into the nuts-and-bolts of the contract, and the reasons why these lawsuits will probably not result in other directors demanding their fair share of profits from videos they’ve helped bring to the screen.
