I saw him around NYU quite a bit last semester. One time he and I were the only ones in a stairwell and he was walking really slowly because he was texting and then he turned around and said "Oh, sorry" because I was weirdly following him kind of closely and I wanted to be like "It's ok...you're James Franco."

(though Wilson opens the book with a discussion of Celine's appearance on the 1998 Oscars alongside Elliot Smith, so there's a certain appropriateness to Franco bringing it up last night)

What is this, the "interests" section of a 16-year-old's MySpace account? Two t's, please.

His interview with Terry Gross around the time of Milk's release was really interesting - he seems to be a bit of a geek about his acting craft and about the arts in general (if I remember correctly, he's doing or did graduate degrees in Fine Arts and filmaking at Columbia and NYU - simultaneously), so it doesn't seem to be a stretch to think he'd be reading that book.
