The first single from PJ Harvey and John Parish‘s A Woman A Man Walked By, “Black Hearted Love,” debuted yesterday on Zane Lowe’s show, and it’s available for download now via the online store 7digital (it’s probably notable that I haven’t found Rapidshare links to it floating around any blogs—not even radio rips). Harvey is staying in the upper register that dominated so much of White Chalk while maintaining her regular level of ferocity; meanwhile, behind her, a strangled guitar riff that sounds lifted straight out of a box containing prime ’90s Amerindie chugs along behind her. I was just thinking about PJH yesterday viz. Mike’s post on Mike Watt. Ah, 1995 — the year a P.J. Harvey album could win all the critics’ awards.
Cannot wait for this. And the new Depeche, of course.
Sounds VERY cool. I want to listen to the whole album already!
I heard a snippet of this new track and am excited to hear more of the alum.
