The announcement of Michael Jackson‘s run of comeback concerts in London—which, sometimes-reliable Fox News gossip Roger Friedman claims, kicks off July 9—was pre-empted this morning in the London Underground, thanks to the poster at right, which shows a “Smooth Criminal”-era Jackson and directs visitors to a Web site, being posted at certain stations. “This Is It,” claims the poster, which to be honest seems kinda ominous, no?
Jackson is a busy guy lately, what with his estate suing to stop the imminent auction of his personal items, which are going on the block in April. Jackson claims that he hasn’t received a full accounting of the items that will be for sale. (They wouldn’t be so cheap as to make him pay for one of those boxed-set catalogs, would they?)

That’s actually a “Black Or White”-era MJ (From that end scene of the video that caused all the controversy when it was world premiered on FOX in ’91). “Smooth Criminal” would be the white jacket with blue shirt and white hat (I believe).
The more you know…
@2ironic4u: whoops! the glove confused me.
@Maura Johnston: Haha, you mean cast. The cast was the hand prop during the Dangeorus era (still an excellent record, btw, very under-rated)
@2ironic4u: I half-agree with you. If he’d pared it down to literally half its length, it’d be of near-Off the Wall quality. At its release length, it’s the poster child for CD-era album bloat.
How long until those all get defaced to read “THIS IS TITS”? I give it until Friday night, 30 minutes after closing time.
Between the hat, the white skin, the “This Is It” message, this gives off more than a little “V for Vendetta” vibe, no? Maybe MJ plans to blow up the arena with a train at the end of the run of shows.
@Chris Molanphy: That’s true, the latter half of the record could have been trimmed but, still, “Why You Wanna Trip On Me” is such a great jam.
@2ironic4u: That is the straight truth.
@2ironic4u:
I have been playing Dangerous A LOT recently, and in fact Why you wanna trip on me has been incorporating itself into a lot of my conversations and “writing”. Michael, Teddy, y’all did that. Hell I even fucks with some of the slower tracks on the album (Keep the Faith FTW!).
yes this r the streets of life michael was sick and he still sings for us soo …….this is the true love u michael
