I hope that he does seriously engage with the book instead of just bringing jokes about Celine I heard when I was thirteen up to date and stringing together lazy Canada jokes. He’s kind of in an interesting spot because he has to come up with an angle that undercuts his audience’s cultural assumptions while also being able to work as a character that’s (theoretically) oblivious to a lot of those assumptions while also serving a fantastic book.
