Gorilla Damon Albarn has a new album planned for a July release. No word on what the project will be named, but there will definitely be a 100-person Chinese choir present and the title will likely feature the word “monkey.” It’s also possible that some of the “80, 90 musicians” involved will be musical legends rendered unrecognizable on the final recording. I like the Gorillaz ok, but it makes me sad that we have transitioned from “Blur’s Damon Albarn” in headlines.
@ noamjamski: One day hopefully he’ll just be Damon Albarn (with no qualifier in front of his name) in America. I’ve tried to let go of the pain that the end of Blur has caused. Now, if only the NME could follow suit and quit dredging up reunion rumors every 10 minutes I’d have time to heal….
