i wouldn’t confuse cnn doing an article on this with “the public immediately jumping on it.” and anyway i doubt this was pitched by a cnn writer (do these exist?) as much as backhanded by a label exec

This whole thing is a further slap in the face to H-Town, which is in the process of attempting a revival through the releases of Slim Thug, UGK, and Mike Jones this spring. I’m patently offended by the fact people failed to do their due diligence (or willfully ignored the obvious past) and are promoting this guy as being legit.

Then again, the fact that Flo Rida stole this idea from someone else, refashioned it as his own, and the public immediately jumped on it as being the greatest thing since slice bread and a work of pop genius really only further exemplifies Flo Rida’s career as basically a musical version of Hollywood (read: churning out remake after remake with nary an original screenplay because originality is not where the money is) and ultimately a paradigm for the decline of creativity, or perhaps the acceptance of creativity, by the popular mass of our generation.
