The Click Five Hang On, Hang Out

I’ve always had a soft spot for the Click Five, the scruffily fresh-faced, Berklee-trained powerpop outfit whose Hard Day’s Night-saluting video for “Catch Your Wave” still gets frequent airplay on MTV’s HD channel Palladia. The band just wrapped up a residency at three clubs in the Northeast as a run-up to their third album, which should come out this summer; “I Quit I Quit I Quit” is apparently the lead single from that record, and it’s a lovely slice of powerpop with besotted lyrics and note-perfect harmonies. A live version of the track after the jump; there’s also an MP3 of the studio version at Music Is The Heart Of Our Soul.

    What the hell is the riff they’re biting? Like I’ve heard it maybe a billion times. Help me out, guys?

    Start Me Up? Maybe…

    @Al Shipley: I always preferred the first track on that album “Good Day”.

    Also, do these guys have a new singer

    @2ironic4u: Yeah, Eric Dill’s gone. I can’t remember the new guy’s name.

    @Shamey: I think it’s maybe something by the Cars? But Start Me Up is in there, too.
