I already mentioned a few weeks ago how excited I am for the forthcoming Gary Louris/Mark Olson acoustic mini-Jayhawks reunion, but if you would like to one-up my ability to see two of the band members play together live, the entire mid-’90s lineup will be performing in Minneapolis on July 10 at the Basilica Block Party, where they’ll share a bill with the Black Crowes and Mat Kearney. As someone who can’t immediately think of a way to justify a trip to Minnesota, I’m trying to be thankful for whatever amount of Jayhawks I can get. [Billboard]

I wish they were playing on Saturday instead. I’d much rather see The Jayhawks than the Counting Crows. I don’t think I can afford to go both nights though and there’s no way I’m missing Matt Nathanson.

I saw that earlier this week. As a former Minnesota resident (why else would I be reading the Strib’s website?) and Jayhawks fan, I can think of many, many reasons to attend.

It’s the $300 plane fare and the whole “I like my family” thing that puts the kibosh on that…
