John Rich Might Be The Future Of Country (For Better Or Worse) EMI Going The Online Focus Group Route?

Tickets for Merge XX—the scrappy independent label’s five-day 20th-anniversary celebration, set to take place July 22-26 in North Carolina—go on sale Wednesday, and it looks like a pretty incredible deal: $150 gets you tickets to all five nights, and the bills include label stalwarts like Superchunk, Spoon, Guv’ner, Polvo, and the Rosebuds. (Plus “many more expected & unexpected.”) Of course, this doesn’t factor in travel expenses, but 85 bucks a night for a hotel room isn’t too bad when you split it between feedback-loving pals.
