Another cog in the hype machine: We Are Hunted is a chart of the most popular songs on blogs, peer-to-peer networks, and other Web 2.0 curios that somehow has rigged its algorithm in such a way that it tracks “sentiment, expression and advocacy” along with sheer mentions of an artist. Although I guess with a lot of blogs out there, the two are the same thing? Anyway, its daily, weekly, and monthly charts seem to have a slightly different bent than elbo.ws and the Hype Machine, and it did introduce me to a neat instrumental take on the Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M,” so I will probably give its super-clean interface another gander or two in the coming weeks.
