Ash’s New Album Is A Cut-And-Paste Job

ashleytWell, I hadn’t heard anything about a new Ashlee Simpson album, but here it is! That’s kind of a surprise. It’s called Guilty Pleasure, and the cover is a teenpop stinker: Handwriting font splashed over purples and pinks and oranges with some fake brush strokes, and the star all decked out in a sorta-dated outfit. Don’t you think that Ashlee’s too old for this? She has a kid now, for Pete’s sake (ha)! And doesn’t she have enough money to hire someone besides one of those American Idol/Disney Channel hacks who dashes these things off between coffee breaks? It just looks cheap.

[Ed. note: This is Ashley Tisdale, not Ashlee Simpson]

Really? It looks just @#$%-ing like her!

[ed. note: for real]

Oh. Huh. Well. The cover still stinks.

  1. People can tell the difference?

I saw only the headline and I was thinking this was Ash, Tim Wheeler’s band of Irish miscreants. Which leads me to…when is Cinnabar City coming out?

But also- who decided it was worth it to put out a second album for the Tiz?? Because Hudgens’ sophomore release sold SO well and all.

    Two things:

    (1) Before reading the post fully, and just scanning the “Ash’s New Album Is A Cut-And-Paste Job” lead-in, I was all, “Word? A new Ashlee Simpson album already?”, and then saw it was Ashley Tisdale and was like, “Word? A new Ashley Tisdale album? Okay, I guess.”, AND

    (2) I like Bittersweet World by AshLEE Simpson.

    That is all.

I don’t blame Dan — they actually made Tisdale look like Simpson through makeup/Photoshopping.

Lucas, excuse me. I’m stuck in yesterday.

@Chris Molanphy: The problem is Lucas and Dan look so much alike already.

dammit! dammit I hate you ashleay teasdale! I’ve always thought “Guilty Pleasure” would make SUCH a fantastic name for a female (and/or gay?) fronted dance/pop album. And now you have to go and ruin it with something that’s obviously going to be guilty, but not pleasurable.

p.s. compare pre- and post- nose-job pics of her. it’s fun!
(yes, I know ashlee simpson got a nose job also. crazy!)

@TheIlliterate: You mean Dan Deacon, right? Because I kinda look like that guy.

@Varina: I thought it was 1977 Ash too! So disappointed that I was wrong…and that I had to look at that cover for a full 3 seconds.

I thought this was about the Northern Irish guys. Bad headline! boooo!

  12. by Lucas Jensen at 8:38 am

@17vargas17: I think the idea is that you read past the headlines! Haha.

  13. by Silverfuture at 12:58 pm

@Lucas Jensen: They’re trying to get those valuable huge numbers of page views from fans of the Irish band.

  14. by Silverfuture at 12:59 pm

    You are, I mean.

  15. by Lucas Jensen at 9:36 am

@Silverfuture: I swear we weren’t. That band has been broken up for a while, right?

  16. by Thierry at 10:03 am

@Lucas Jensen: No, they just went back to being a trio, and announced a couple of years ago that they would focus on releasing singles instead of albums from now on.
