While I’m all for better girl groups making inroads into the Scherzinger/O’Day-strangled market, let’s just hope that bringing the ‘Babes to the States’ ever-diminishing pop consciousness doesn’t result in the girls being relegated to “featured” status on a bunch of other peoples’ tracks–or winding up in a situation similar to the one that ensuedthe last time Jay plucked a hopeful from across the pond. I’m hoping they’re still the Sugababes, and not some watered-down excessively hip-hopped version. Think we’ll get an American-only Greatest Hits to introduce them, or go straight in with new material?
I feel like Siobhan and Mutya are laughing at this development and I don’t quite know why.
I still say “Easy” should’ve been a hit here, and it’s still recent enough (no older than, say, September’s “Cry for You” was last year) to make re-promoting it here plausible.
