A few things

1. I was right with predicting that Anberlin’s “Feel Good Drag” would hit #1. Apparently it is the slowest rise to #1 in that chart’s history.

2. I really hope that my beloved Silversun Pickups is the band who dethrone Green Day from #1, but knowing this chart its either gonna be Rise Against or 311. The best I can hope for is “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” by Cage the Elephant which has been jumping by large amounts every week.

3. Another “I really hope” is that upon the release of their third album, Arctic Monkeys managed a second Modern Rock chart hit. I hate how three Kooks songs have hit the chart and only one song by the infinitely better AM.

Yeah, half the modern rock top ten have been on the chart for under 10 weeks. That’s gotta be some sort of record.

“Know Your Enemy” has grown on me tremendously in the last two weeks and I am ridiculously jazzed for the new record. I will have zero complaints if 21st Century Breakdown is just American Idiot Redux.

Two things that make me go “whaaaa? That 3OH!3 song (#5 on iTunes as I type this and #13 on Billboard, so a likely top ten appearance next week) and the crappy Second Chance by Shinedown (#13 on iTunes, #20 on the Hot 100…least likely top 20 hit ever.)

Yay for “100 and Single,” and boo for “Know Your Enemy.”

Here’s a fun analysis someone should run: Pazz and Jop-type rankings against chart performance, and/or each chart’s hit records ranked by Metacritic scores.

I’ll bet money Modern Rock ends up near the bottom.

Weird how “Geek Strink Breath” or “Hitchin A Ride” never hung around to be recurrents/golds. I always thought that song was great too

B) Minority’s “meh,” but Warning is a great album
