In addition to having his cartoon-themed bar hocked on Craigslist, R. Kelly picked this week to release a new single, the banger-in-training-pants “Supaman High.”
It’s monotonously manipulated all the way through to next week, I guess because it’s one of those songs that is designed to be massive when it bounces off the walls that surround a club where lots of women in slinky outfits and men in suits bump around in the dark and stiffly emanate “sexy” signals in the hopes of making the $13 cocktails they’ve been downing all evening somewhat worth it. But listening to it in the relatively harsher light of the late afternoon, I am reminded of Kells’ ability to actually, y’know, imbue a track with melody. (Exhibit A.) Perhaps it will grow on me through repeated casual listens as I walk down the street, but I doubt it.
New Music: R. Kelly, “Supaman High” Feat. OJ Da Juiceman [The Young Fresh And New via bg5000]

Oh R.kelly.
Check out Maxwell’s new single “Pretty Wings”: http://www.musze.com
This song is awful. Almost as awful as the idea that at this point in time R. Kelly needs someone like OJ Da Juiceman to make his music more radio-friendly.
woohoo for my comments account working again, though! thank you Maura!
