Corporate rock stalwart Stan Bush has given “The Touch” a nu-metal makeover, complete with mournful piano, slightly awkward rapping, and dropped-in-from-another-session guitar solo. It would seem that Bush is hoping that “The Touch ‘09″ will be included on the soundtrack to Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen–although given that the actual Linkin Park already has a place on that particular album, I would think that the producers are preparing to blow him off with the “diversity of genre” excuse. After all that work they did on the video and everything! Compare the new track to the original, located after the jump.

I have never seen that video before. Unbelievable.
When the movie came out, i was about 6 and this was, by far, my favorite song from the soundtrack. (and i loved weird al, so go figure) A couple years later i saw the soundtrack in a store and looked through it, expecting that it was done by some big name artist. I was a little surprised to see Stan Bush as the artist. “Who the heck is that guy”, little drinkypuss thought.
Yeah, i was one of the kids who cried when optimus died. fridays are good for oversharing.
Neither can hold a candle to Dirk Diggler’s version.
@robster75: Fully agreed.
good lord. i couldn’t bear to watch once that guy started to “rap.”
ahhhh so awkward to watch. it’s like watching your dad try so hard yet fail miserably at being “hip” or “with it.”
meanwhile, the new linkin park song premieres in MERE HOURS
