greendayFrom the looks of their tour openers, it would seem that Green Day is still pretty nostalgic for the year that American Idiot came out: Franz Ferdinand, the Kaiser Chiefs, and the Bravery will open for the band as they crisscross the world from July to October. No, really, I swear this story isn’t a piece from 2004 that had a re-datestamped version of it horked up by Google News! Here’s proof! [LiveDaily]

Only the Killers are missing, but I guess they’re the only ‘04 new wavers that “made it” to headline status.

To be fair, Kaiser Chief’s debut didn’t come out until 2005 (I think?)

@Lucas Jensen: Aw, don’t hate Mr. Jensen. Track-by-track the Chiefs are totally more consistent than The Killers.

I wish Green Day were nostalgic for their Dookie album - back when I gave a damn about them.

Franz Ferdinand impressed me at Coachella this year. I feel bad for them getting lumped in with these other bland groups.
