Annabel Linquist is a “self-professed non-musician” who charges $130/pop for her ramshackle, speedily produced love songs–think The Blow, except with much simpler music and lyrics that are about 40% as clever–which she records under the name Gretel Prinn. Once they’re recorded, she distributes the tracks via social-networking tools that accelerate the process of hacky tech writers covering her the songs’ being put out to the masses. Man, if only Facebook had been around when Momus was putting together Stars Forever–he would have been a trend-piece goldmine. [GP HEARTS YOU via LAT]
