p.s. “new” Conan is great and mops the floor with the pathetic show put on by Jimmy Fallon. Even The Roots can’t save him.

@Chainsaw Dick: I don't know, Green Day sounded pretty good on The Colbert Report (last week?). Surprisingly, for a show that features musical acts only about once every 4-6 weeks, I've found the sound on that show to be really good. And that's the truth(iness).

i thought the sound quality was fine on this one. green day sounded like shit because the last two records are studio records. no green day song has sounded good on live tv since the insomniac era, and personally, i just like to pretend that nimrod never happened.

I caught the end last night and thought that the sound wasn’t great, and it really sucked when Green Day played earlier in the week. Billy Joe’s mic and guitar kept fading in and out of the mix. I’m thinking that Lorne made Conan take SNL’s sound engineer.

I know it was for sound quality reasons, but I was creeped out by the fact all those kids seemed trapped in a plexiglass box.
