Universal Music Group has struck a deal with the game company Tapulous to produce artist-branded versions of its iPhone/iPod Touch play-with-the-music game Tap Tap Revenge, and to allow gamers to purchase UMG songs for the purposes of tapping along for 50 cents a pop. First on the docket is Lady GaGa, whose Lady GaGa Revenge went live yesterday at the iTunes Store; it’s $4.99, and includes 14 tracks and the ability to play in something called “four rail” mode, which I’m sure made GaGa nostalgic for the old days.
