New Zealand pop pioneer (and beer-endorsement beneficiary) Chris Knox had a stroke on Thursday and is in the hospital, although according to people close to him he’s recovering quite well and no longer in pain (after some scary early reports). “He enjoyed his vegetable frittata this morning but I suffered the classic Knox withering look when I mentioned beer,” Knox’s friend Roy Martyn said in a statement on the blog that his family and friends have set up to update people on his condition, and to let those people who love his music leave messages of support.
