albesureSomehow, the news that New Jack Swing titan Al B. Sure!–a.k.a. the father of Lil’ Al B. Sure!–had a new album out, his first in 17 years, had escaped me until just this moment. It couldn’t have come at a better time! Honey I’m Home opens with a twisted-up sample of Al’s 1988 hit “Nite & Day”… and then goes right into a song that uses the term “quiet storm” in one of its opening lines.
