Oh no: TMZ is reporting that Michael Jackson has been rushed to a Los Angeles hospital in cardiac arrest, and that paramedics performed CPR while the ambulance was en route. Jackson had been rehearsing for his upcoming series of shows in London, which were scheduled to start July 13, in Southern California. The 911 call summoning the ambulance apparently came in at around 3:20 p.m. ET.
5:50 p.m. ET: TMZ is reporting that Jackson has passed away, but is currently the only news outlet sourcing the story.
6:06 p.m. ET: The Twitter for the Los Angeles Times city desk is quoting a “high-ranking law enforcement official” who says that Jackson is in a coma, and that his family is by his bedside.
6:16 p.m. ET: The Los Angeles Times is confirming Jackson’s passing.

So hard to reconcile my feelings about his music and him personally. The musical legacy is really insane, though.
It’s strange because Michael Jackson had definitely been off my radar for a long time. But this really is shocking and terrible news today.
Man, I’m so bummed right now. I totally had tickets to go see him in London. Everyone at work was telling me there was no way me was making through all 50 shows. Turns out he didn’t even make it through rehearsals. Crap.
