Some day, The New York Times‘ Sunday magazine will cover a musician who isn’t beloved by NPR, who isn’t on a major indie. This weekend, alas, will not see that day. It all went downhill when Isobel Campbell left Belle and Sebastian. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. Not a good piece, really: underwritten in many places, desperately overwritten in others.

This one though, has yet to really grab me, except for Mary’s Market (which I think is a b-side?), and I still don’t like the “Funny Little Frog” re-do, because I can’t stop thinking it sounds like Joss Stone covering B&S.
