Release Of “Rebirth” Cover Art Suggests That Lil Wayne’s Rock Album Might Actually Come Out Someday

The front cover for Rebirth, which was released on Friday, is a pretty standard affair:

But what makes this news about Lil Wayne’s long-delayed rock album exciting is that there’s a back cover, complete with tracklisting. And while the words “featuring Lenny Kravitz” sent a shiver down my spine that was much more violent than the one “Prom Queen” produced, I’m excited–

–for another collaboration between Lil Wayne and Lloyd! Yes!

  1. I don’t buy it. A designer working for a label wouldn’t split the back picture in a way that results in Wayne having a 4 foot torso.

But then again, I said the same thing when the Carter 3 art was released.

  2. Am I the only one that thinks the FBI warning font looks phony? Coupled with the “federallaw” typo and that a quick Google search suggests that the UPC is a generic one, I call shenanigans.

  3. That’s not the final artwork, somehow they’re going to send that through the auto-tuner as well. It’s complicated.

  4. @PlunderingDesire: Yeah, I second that shenanigans call.

  5. Nicki Minaj? Why does that sound familiar. Oh, right. Product Placement.

  6. Not to mention that the back cover doesn’t seem to have the correct dimensions of a cd inlay.

  7. this is totally fake. the official one is him without his hat like laying down on the couch. the reason i know this is its on the New lil waye site(www.newlilwayne.com). and the tracklisting and back cover is not announced yet.
