Hayley Williams still writes terrible lyrics, but this is an accepted caveat in lieu of how I have listened to Paramore's Riot more than any other album this decade. It's not great or anything--it's quite flawed. It's just irresistible. It also kind of left me on my bedroom floor feeling some thrashed and raw nerves I thought I had abandoned in high school. It was good, it was healing, etc.

This, on second listen, seems pretty great, actually. Will probably in the next few months listen to Brand New Eyes and get similarly wracked by pain and release. Which is probably the sign of a great band.
