At first, one wonders what sort of statement the post-hardcore outfit The Used is trying to make with this cover—the best artistic intentions can turn into a total grind?—but further inspection reveals the real message of this semi-gruesome picture: It’s really hard to find someone who can convincingly employ Photoshop so that it looks like someone’s self-mutilating these days. And here I thought all the talented digital artists out there were underemployed!
