Has anyone noted yet how similar this Aly & AJ situation is to when Stacy Ferguson & Renee Sandstrom went from being the real-life-named stars of Kids Incorporated to being “Wild Orchid” for a while?
Of course, a
meth interlude followed before Stacy emerged as Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie and Renne seems to be doing behind the scenes work, including functioning as a piped in vocal for one of the characters in Camp Rock.

Just wanted to point out the obvious past (and possible future) parallels, here.

Shabutie became Coheed & Cambria, which must be an upgrade, since every time I hear “Shabutie” I think it sounds like something they would’ve yelled out on “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In”

As is legally required with any mention of Green Jellÿ is the mention is that shortly after the release of the "Cereal Killer" project, members Maynard Keenan and Danny Carey left the band and formed Tool. @socialdancing: Actually, Doves were originally called Sub Sub and their big UK hit was "Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)" (#3 in 1993). It's quite jarring that one of the finest indie rock bands of the 2000's started out as such a generic 90's house act.

First that comes to mind is Oui3, that had quite a big hit in the UK with “Change From The Old Routine” and then went on to more and bigger hits as Doves.

I really liked Kara’s Flowers, and used to put “Myself” on many a mixtape, but it wasn’t until years later that I realized with much horror that they were, in fact, the nasty people behind “Harder To Breathe.” (I’ve softened a little on the M5-hating since then.)
