The always-crucial The Future Of R & B mixtape series from Tapemasters Inc. has a new installment out (it’s No. 27, in case you’re counting), and this time out the proceedings are hosted by Amerie, whose Def Jam debut In Love And War is allegedly coming out soon. Sure, fans of the R & B singer have been burned before on the matter of Amerie albums prefaced by mixtapes, but at least she’s tiding us over with a new track. “Red Eye,” after the jump, is rich in airplane-related metaphors, which may explain why its overall feel is silky-smooth. (After all, who wants thoughts of turbulence to interrupt their pleasure trips?)
