seriously maura, you got to listen to more music, esp those bands that sing ” a plain old screamy song about how God is great ” . honestly, you tell me you write an article about confide, and have never, never, heard about the popularity of underoath, as i lay dying, the devil wears prada, and many more in the christian metal/screamo scene? seriously?

Screamo haha thats sad. Your all losers. I appreciate all forms of MUSIC. But when i define music, it includes having musical talent, not a computer generate it for you. If you listen to “screamo” or any real BAND, you’ll hear what is called an INSTRUMENT. And realistically They do a better job on recreating the mainstream music. Ex. Woe, Is Me, They did a great job on Tik Tok.

CONFIDE did a tremendous job!
they are unique and great christian band letting there lyrics bring meaning to the world by making it into the pop/hardcore social scene. people need to get out more and enjoy confides great music!

I had never heard of this band till I saw them live with a band I love. This band is amazing live, one of my favorites to see live (with estk, dmb, and suicide silence). This cover is awesome. They played it that night and it was beast. The original version of this song SUCKS, but Confide throws a twist into it that sounds so perfect. Fuck all you who hate them.

This song is actually pretty nice. If you are already into screamo and hardcore music, and you like things like ATTACK ATTACK or anything that uses electronic beats, you'd like it. The problem is most people just aren't into screamo, which is fine, but to tear it up so fiercely, it's pretty vicous.

I just wish sometimes that people would remember that Jimmy Tamborello did a freakin’ great job with the synth programming on The Postal Service record. That band isn’t just Ben Gibbard’s hapless squacking. Tamborello brought Morr Music delightfulness to the mainstream; made that accessible without watering it down. Yes, the whole kit and caboodle was co-opted by the yuppie milquetoasts, but geez. It’s still actually a pretty great album. And believe me, it takes a lot for me to admit it.

That being said, I don’t hate this as much as I expected. Dynamics! Wow!

@Christopher R. Weingarten: Man, I’m all for rejecting the stifling influence of yuppie-indie and Starbucks music and all that, but…really? You don’t have to like the Postal Service, Gibbard or any of the genres they come out of to acknowledge that song as near-perfectly composed and recorded. I have friends who find PS twee and overrated who readily acknowledge “Such Great Heights” as a towering exception. (If anything, this cover only enhances my opinion of the song.) When they write the book on this decade, they’re going to mark that song as one of its 10 or 20 best pop songs.

I mean, there’s contrarian, and then there’s nyah-nyah-nyah. Come on!
