Kelly Clarkson Is Walking Away Again

July 14th, 2009 // 7 Comments

Kelly Clarkson stopped by Late Show With David Letterman last night to perform her forthcoming single “Already Gone,” which is a big splashy ballad on All I Ever Wanted but which gets the toned-down, tuned-down treatment live. I love this arrangement—it really brings out the song’s vulnerability, and Kelly’s voice sounds great—and I’m hoping that this rework gets at least the B-side treatment when the single eventually does come out. Clip after the jump.

  1. A station here in Dallas is playing All I Ever Wanted pretty regularly, and it sounds great. That should be the new single.

  2. Have we given up on Don’t Let Me Stop You ever being released as a single?

  3. Maura, the video shows up as private.

  4. @Rockabye: oh, annoying. i’ll look for a new one.

  5. @Rockabye: fixed, and now in h-er d!

  6. @Maura: It’s gorgeous, and so is Kelly’s voice.

I love it when she does these stripped things, and I like that there’s just enough wobble in her voice that it hits hard.

  7. @craigp: Seriously. I love that one.

This arrangement of “Already Gone” is stunning.
