Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor’s love/hate/WTF relationship with Twitter took another twist over the weekend, when he quit the microblogging service again. Although this time the likelihood of him making a semi-triumphant return is a bit lessened by the fact that he actually completely deleted his account this time around. (Oh, I bet he’s lurking under the protective cover of a pseudonymous account somewhere, though. Quitting the Internet ain’t that easy, trust me.) [Twitter]

I see Trent is giving a famous face to the always hilarious Internet Flounce*.
*Also known as “YOU GUYS ARE SO MEAN, I’M LEAVING!!!11″
Its maddening, because his Twitter was one of the few I actually read. I understand why he did it though, there are a few people out there who will not stop attacking him and his fiancee. The worst was when they said that him helping a person dying from heart disease was a sham and a PR stunt, and even accused him of keeping the money for himself. And when he attacks back they’re always saying things like “OMG, Trent is stalking me!”
A few weeks ago Reznor said that if he could find one of these people in person he’d “punch them in the tits.” So of course those same insane women went off and branded him a misogynist. Now that he’s gone they are all scouring Twitter, trying to find his new private account so they can figure out how to harass that one, no doubt so he can respond and they can label him a crazy stalker again (talk about projecting). I tried to talk to some of these insane twits about this, first nicely then not so much, but they are blinded by obsession and righteous rage.
I dread the day of a stalker murdering a celeb because of a Twitter fight.
