R & B singer Monica has been working on her follow-up to her 2006 album The Makings Of Me for some time, long enough to even spawn a reality show about its process. The record, Still Standing, is as of this moment set to come out in October, and the first single “Lemme Know” is a Jazmine Sullivan-penned track that’s produced by Missy Elliott. The song’s got a fair amount of swing to its gauntlet-throwing, although I can’t help that it would actually be better (sigh) without Elliott’s vocal presence, since her whooping in the background and semi-uninspired verse about finding a man just drag the song down. (I really, really miss the weird Missy. Can we blame Twitter for that?) The track is after the jump.
