Fall Out Boy Set Sail

gallery-8729161The pre-release campaign for Fall Out Boy’s “What A Catch, Donnie” video, the latest clip from Folie Ă  Deux, has nearly rivaled that of The Blair Witch Project as far as suspense goes. Is it a sign that the band’s breaking up? Or taking a long hiatus? Well, now the nautical-themed “Catch,” which has lead singer Patrick Stump crooning the tune while hanging out with a bird on a boat (that thankfully has a piano), is out, and I’m sure it’ll be parsed to no end by fans. Especially because of its ending—which, as Pete Wentz told MTV, is “a bit of a cliffhanger, which is kind of cool.” I’ll probably watch it a few more times before any hidden meanings float to the surface, but you can dive right in after the jump.

  • How do I say this...Throwdini!
I kept waiting for him to sing "I'm on a boat motherfucker/I'm on a motherfucking boat" and tell me about his flippy-floppies.
  • Was hoping against logic that Elvis Costello would suddenly emerge from the ship's deck to sing his verse.

Then he'd stop the song and do "Radio, Radio."

    Ah, dreams.
  • Wentz literally going down with the ship. Kind of hitting us over the head with that one. Sadly, I think this is largely meaningless.
  • from wentz: "new edit of the video soon because ofcourse they went and put up an edit without our approval. get rid of the cgi wackness."
