Rob Tannenbaum’s “defense” of the newly resurgent Third Eye Blind for New York is certainly fun reading, but what takes it to the next level are the comments. I won’t say more for fear of spoiling, but I will say that it’s probably only a matter of time before Stephan Jenkins himself (of whom Tannenbaum writes “Hooks seem to flow out of him as naturally as phlegm comes out of a baby”) shows up to take on all comers. Sometimes, when you want something else to get through this life (or at least a too-hot, news-free August day)? The Internet totally comes through. [Vulture]

I saw them at SXSW and they were certainly more committed performers and craftsmen than half the indie rock bands I saw. I enjoyed it, even if Mr. Jenkins is a hyper-douche.
I’m waiting for an article that let’s me know its cool to like Fastball. I really like “All The Pain Money Can Buy” and “The Harsh Light of Day,” and indie approval would be nice.
An enjoyable bit of satire. I had a bit of a bonding moment with the guy in the comments who posted all the stuff about Kevin Cadogen. I’ve been saying that for years and am usually greeted with “Dude, Third Eye Blind have always sucked”.
