Jay’s dis of Bill O’Reilly on his new single “Off That,” as predicted from the moment it first dropped, garnered a free plug for Blueprint 3 on last night’s O’Reilly Factor. I don’t fully “get” Jay-Z but i’m a fan of anyone who takes O’Reilly to task. He digs at Jay-Z per Otis Redding but it’s not like O’Reilly is anywhere close to an Edward R. Murrow or Walter Cronkite. But back to the music – it will be interesting to see if Jay-Z can match his former glory this time around.
Rush has responded. And, um, he sure knows how to play to audience members’ fears.
Not that it’s a big deal, but did you notice that the lyrics O’Reilly reads are swiped from different parts of the same verse? He reads the part that mentions him and Rush, and then jumps a few lines to be sure to read the part about a “black president.”
