Continuing the theme of Pretty Good Covers You Might Have Missed While Keeping Away From Your Computer This Weekend, Paramore visited Radio One’s Live Lounge on Friday and performed an unplugged version of Kings Of Leon’s slow-building Top Five hit “Use Somebody.” Lead singer Hayley Williams’ voice is what makes the cover; it’s rich with longing and makes me wonder just what tricks the band will pull out on the can’t-get-here-soon-enough brand new eyes. Clip after the jump.

this isn’t a real band, right? isn’t this just a fefe dobson kind of deal where and AI type chick gets a “rocker” haircut and then fakes likes it’s a real band until she gets caught , then she goes out to trendy clubs? Or a, like, a christian version of that?
I forget how I found this over the weekend but I was so wowed. It was obvious she could sing…but I think her charms come out very well here, too. I’ve only seen Paramore live once…Hayley always impressed me but her band failed to keep up, and even drowned her out, leading to that all-too-common, just-trying-to-screaming-over-the-rock-band style that’s coming into vogue with some of these girls… So…it’s only a matter of time before she skips out on her own, isn’t it? Please?
Wow this is so much better than the reed-thin vocal on the original. I didn’t know there was a good song in here!
reed-thin? Dang. I’m not a Kings of Leon fanboy or anything (I don’t know anything beyond their few hits), but in my opinion, Caleb Followill has one of the richest voices in pop right now.
