Every person to whom I’ve sent the Spice Girls’ video for their underappreciated 1997 single “Stop” has responded with something akin to a “yay,” so I figured I’d pass it along as a way to make up for both the ickiness unleashed in that previous post about the latest batch of Oprah-revealed unpleasantness and all the total bummer Sugababes news that’s been breaking this week. Feel free to comment with your favorite video from the five-headed pop hydra, although anyone who tries to say that “Holler” is any good at all is fired. [Dailymotion]

I honestly didn’t remember the whole Irish (?) village theme of this video.
Have to say, still love “Too Much” — please don’t tell, but I may need to sneak in a viewing of Spice World later today…

I don’t so much have a video response as think this is a good place to share the story of my friend Courtney calling me at 2 a.m. in 1999 outside the Tower Records on Newbury St. in Boston and just shouting into the phone “I GOT A SLICE AT ONE PIZZA PLACE AND THEN ANOTHER SLICE AT ANOTHER PIZZA PLACE, AND I JUST BOUGHT BOTH SPICE GIRLS RECORDS.”
I was always a sucker for “2 Become 1″.

Ahh, slow motion Posh circa ‘96. Never has a girl with a pig nose been so alluring.
@Evie: I miss that Tower Records. It was the home of many impulse purchases.
I thinkmy favorite is “Say you’ll be there”.
