In addition to the cavalcade of new albums coming out tomorrow, we’re also going to have debuts of new singles by Britney Spears (the Max Martin-assisted, cryptically titled “3″), the newly penitent Chris Brown (”Transformer,” which had better not have a Brian Austin Green reference), and the still-soldiering-on Foo Fighters (”Wheels,” which from the snippet sounds sort of, um, old-dudeish). Which will be the most successful? Which will probably inspire the most hand-wringing? (OK that one’s a given, I guess.) [RS / Inn The Basement / FMQB]

I’ve heard “Wheels” on XM a few times – its very much “old-dudeish”. But I enjoyed it nonetheless.
@Jerkwheat: I agree on enjoying it and I was thinking Tom Petty-ish, which I guess is just a more specific “old-dudeish.”
Yeah, “Wheels” is plenty okay with me.
Not at all curious about Chris Brown, but am about a Britney/Max Martin collabo.
Lyrics to “3″ do not inspire confidence. Neither do Max’s hyperbolic statements about his last Britters collabo (”If U Seek Amy”). Do not go back to the well, do not collect $200 Brit & Max.
So, is this Britney single from an upcoming album? Homegirl is productive, Circus only came out last december?
I’m not complaining, if we get more stuff a’la Radar, everything’s fine by me.
@Christopher: well we should probably wait to hear it first. That said, I really wish she would get back on board the Danja train. The Danja/Britney collaborations from Blackout and Circus were generally her best songs ever, “Toxic” and “Slave” notwithstanding.
fre2daa – it’s just a single off of her greatest hits collection. no actual studio album.
