Maura, I tend to avoid anyone who earns Belle and Sebastian comparisons (and thus I’ve ignored Camera Obscura for the past four years) but this is damn pleasant pop—real sweet, real wounded.

They came along at the wrong time and will forever be branded in my mind as the band who totally rips off The Concretes. I guess they serve a purpose now that The Concretes seem dormant, though. I mean, the song is pleasant enough, but *poof* it’s gone.

They are nice. Although I do remember them being the first band I knew that I ever noticed having a featured profile on Myspace. That seemed really odd then, although I guess it’s sort of quaint now.
