“The only question is: Who will play Kanye West?” the Associated Press asks about teen twanger Taylor Swift’s Nov. 7 stint guest-hosting NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Actually, I think the more pressing question is, “How many skits will the hacky SNL writers try to wring out of ‘Imma let you finish, but…’?” I’m putting the over/under at 3, maybe 4 if she’s only given the chance to perform two songs from her still-moving-units second album Fearless. I look at everything through a chart prism, so: Too bad she didn’t perform on the season premiere a month ago — a burst of iTunes sales for “You Belong with Me,” plus her chart-topping airplay, and she could’ve had a Hot 100 No. 1.

They already wrote this skit — for Yeezy himself — two years ago. Are they really so hacky that they’d repeat it so soon?

/haven’t watched SNL in years’d
@RobMurphy: Yes.
@RobMurphy: I second Maura’s YES.
I do like the idea of Taylor hosting/performing, though. I can see a skit or two revolving around her Type-A personality, and maybe one where they put her against type, as a bad girl or something similar. “A List of Things Thrown…” predicts a Lawrence Welk sketch, which wouldn’t shock me.
What does she do for performances, though? I believe she did “Fifteen” last time, so I imagine that’s out (if I’m correct). I wouldn’t mind a track from the first album.
Taylor Swift is unremarkable drivel and Saturday Night Live is unfunny and stale, so it’s a perfect fit really. It’s like the perfect storm of boredom.
I just hope she sounds better during her musical performances this time around.
Good for her!!!
Okay, I did it (http://idolator.com/5282752/have-you-taken-time-out-of-your-day-to-be-nice-to-your-local-popstar), I’m done.
@ObtuseIntolerant: See? We can do it!!!
