Haven’t done one of these in a while, and I figure the night that I’m about to run out to the R. Kelly show in New York (yessss) is as good a time as any to do so. Also, I am currently in something of a (relative) listening rut, alternating between the Shakira record, my “2009 awesomeness” playlist (now at 32 songs! new additions include Alphabeat and Natalie Imbruglia!), and isolated listens to the new songs/albums that cross my transom. I have been on a mega-Kylie kick lately (tonight I felt a really strong tug towards “Speakerphone” for some reason), probably because I totally missed out on her recent tour.
Also, that “Fireflies” song by Owl City, aka Not-Postal-Service-But-Sounds-Identical has been aural crack to me for the past week or so. I wasn’t even all that in to the original Postal Service, and yet.
Apparently, there’s some new Amerie I should be tracking down. I don’t know why I let myself miss out on that. (Well, I suppose the whole “midterms” and “working while a full-time student” things might explain it.)
I’m not attempting to be as current as usual…
but basically, lots of Madonna, Prince, Florence + the Machine, Imogen Heap and Fall Out Boy, and soon, a lot more Mew and Devin Townsend.
Jemina Pearl’s solo debut kicks major ass. On the other end of the spectrum I’ve been rocking out to Munich Machine, 1978 disco by Moroder.

Mariah Carey’s Memoirs Of An Imperefect Angel . . . i know . . . not everybody’s cup of tea, but it is what it is . . . and I love the album. As I have said before, I’m a big fan but this is her first album since Butterfly that I don’t skip tracks. Love it!
Sort of obsessed with the new leaked Gaga track, “Alejandro.” Very Madonna-y.
