Mariah Carey’s Memoirs Of An Imperefect Angel . . . i know . . . not everybody’s cup of tea, but it is what it is . . . and I love the album. As I have said before, I’m a big fan but this is her first album since Butterfly that I don’t skip tracks. Love it!

I have been on a mega-Kylie kick lately (tonight I felt a really strong tug towards “Speakerphone” for some reason), probably because I totally missed out on her recent tour.

Also, that “Fireflies” song by Owl City, aka Not-Postal-Service-But-Sounds-Identical has been aural crack to me for the past week or so. I wasn’t even all that in to the original Postal Service, and yet.

Apparently, there’s some new Amerie I should be tracking down. I don’t know why I let myself miss out on that. (Well, I suppose the whole “midterms” and “working while a full-time student” things might explain it.)

I don’t actually dislike any of those songs — except maybe “Heaven And Hell” — and I do kinda “get” “Marie Cherie” (though yes it is TOTES a Be Nice To Popstars song, the kind of song that rule was invented for), but it just feels like a more cohesive album this way. It’s all songs about sass, boys, and music, and the ways in which all three can make you both happy and sad.

This is the first I’m hearing about a two-disc edition!

And uh yeah so to get back on topic, it would seem we are all listening to Annie’s DON’T STOP.

@ampersandparade: Annie has become my favorite pop star by courtesy of merely actually releasing the things she has recorded. It shouldn’t be such a revolutionary idea in this day and age, but it is. Also Annie does not get pregnant unless her publicity campaign requires her to do so. Yes I am looking at you, Sophie. And I suppose at you too, Roisin. You had so better make 2010 worth my while.
