I was at the opening of the Green Day musical also, but I was sitting a couple rows in front of the band. Watching Billie Joe silently mouth all of the words to all of the songs as they were being performed was…well…the only word I could come up with for it was “adorable”.

Broadway has no shame anymore, so really anything is fair game. But you’re more likely to see musicals based on every movie under the sun (ETA 20 minutes till someone pitches Twilight: The Musical) before you get more jukebox musicals.
